Hello My name is Peter Campbell and I was born in Greymouth. An accountant by profession (BCom University of Canterbury 1985, CA 1985 and Chartered Accountant in public practice), I have owned and operated my busy sole practitioner’s practice in Westport since 1988, currently employing 15 staff. I am married to Jan, who also works alongside me in the accountancy business, and we have three daughters, all of whom attended Westport North primary school and then Buller High School. I have always had a strong interest in education and community affairs and have served as Deputy Chairman, then became Chairman of the Buller High School Board of Trustees for 10 years. I have been involved in the educational field at regional level, and was Chairperson of the Marlborough/Nelson/West Coast School Trustees Association for several years, having previously been a registered trainer for the NZSTA. I was also on the Board of the NZ School Trustees Association and in 2000 represented that Association when I became a member of the Ministry of Education’s Practitioners Group for the review of operations grant to schools. I am also a long-time member of the Westport Rotary Club, and responsible for organising the annual Rotary speech contests for school students in the Buller region. My keen sporting background (which includes cricket, squash, hockey, badminton and volleyball) has also drawn me into the field of rugby where I am a well known local referee. I was part of the group which was instrumental in forming the Westport Youth Club in 2000, aimed at providing a drug- and alcohol-free social environment for the young people of the town. I was also Chairperson of the former Buller Youth Works Trust, which acted to place young local people in employment. In 2000 I became one of the two Westport representatives on the newly formed West Coast branch of the Chamber of Commerce. Then in 2007 I was elected as a Councilor on the Buller District Council, where I take an active role in promoting the interests of the Westport community. After venturing into “Dancing Without The Stars” (where I certainly was not a star!) I became involved in Homebuilders, and recently moved into the role of Chairman.

My name is Bev Poynter and I hold the position of secretary for Homebuilders West Coast Trust. I am married with three adult children and six grandchildren. I retired three years ago from nursing/hospital management at Buller Hospital. I joined Homebuilders "to give something back to the community" as I had spare time on my hands. I fully support and am proud of the services offered by Lorraine and the team at Homebuilders. I mentor a young person through Homebuilders Big Brothers Big Sisters programme. I am also involved in Buller Country Music Club, Home Hospice and Buller Adult Learning Services.
