Homebuilders Family Services
Homebuilders' Homebased service is offered to families across the West Coast. The main office is in Westport with an outreach office in Greymouth.
Homebased social workers work with the client families/whanau using a strengths based approach. Strengths that already exist within the family are identified and plans are made to support families to achieve their goals.
Homebased is a free service offered to families/whanau with children up to the age of 17 years.
Our service is delivered to family/whanau in a way that respects cultural needs and values.
There is one point of entry into Homebuilders. Referrals can be made through an organisation, agency, group or individual (self); always with the clients knowledge and permission. An initial assessment is conducted by our Homebased Team Leader and a wrap around plan may include any or all of our services:
- Social work support for children, young people and their families/whanau
- Parenting programmes
- Respite care for children
- Strengthening families
- Big Brother, Big Sister youth mentoring programme
Homebuilders operates within results based accountability ensuring the support offered for children and families make a difference, is pertinent to the client and achieves the outcome the client wants to achieve.
